The Long Path
Director & DP
It’s human nature to try and pretend things are okay in times of struggle.
That used to be the case for New Jersey runner and race director Kim Levinsky. Through her attempt to set the FKT on the relatively unknown 358-mile New York State Long Path, Kim unravels her journey from reluctantly starting therapy to becoming a mental health advocate in her community.
Directors Statement
I grew up on one of the road sections of the Long Path. Every third telephone pole on my road was adorned with the trail's aquamarine blaze. It covers some of the most impactful pieces of wilderness in my life. Stretching a little acknowledged and vastly diverse geographic thread directly to NYC. This is my visual love letter to home and the places that have provided me peace throughout my life.
My wish is for viewers to feel inspired to engage in their local trail communities and to be able to speak freely about their mental health.
